It was originally traded on the Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX).

It is now traded on the NSE International Exchange (NSE IX) in Gandhinagar, India.

Gujarat International Finance Tec-City Nifty, known as GIFT Nifty, is a different concept laid by indian financial system.

Indian retail investors cannot invest in GIFT Nifty products under the Liberalized Remittance Scheme (LRS).

What is GIFT Nifty Open and Close Timing

The recently introduced GIFT Nifty F&O contracts feature trading sessions spanning 21 hours between two sessions. The initial session extends for 9 hours, commencing at 6:30 am IST and concluding at 3:40 pm Indian Standard Time (IST). Following a 55-minute break, the second 12-hour session kicks off at 4:35 pm IST and persists until 2:45 am IST the following day.

In contrast, the SGX Nifty operates for 16 hours each day, with trading available from 6:30 am to 11:30 pm IST.

WHAT IS DIFFERNCE BETWEEN SGX AND GIFT NIFTY

As of July 3, 2023, SGX Nifty was officially rebranded as Gift Nifty.

This marks a significant shift in the trading landscape for the Indian financial markets.

Previously, SGX Nifty was traded on the Singapore Exchange (SGX). It is now traded on the NSE International Exchange (NSE IX) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India.
